-Researched benefits and drawbacks of various site locations

-Learned ways of improving production of designs in AutoCAD

Building Envelope and Air Tightness

-Created sketches for architectural plans, placement of air exchange systems, piping for water systems, and placement of solar panels for maximum solar collection

-Researched concept of building envelope, solar chimneys, thermal bridges, and ventilation methods

Solar Panel and Water Storage Design

-Researched ways to maximize solar energy collection methods

​

-Studied concept of inverters, mono vs. polycrystalline solar panels, and the manufacturing behind solar panels

​

-Familiarize with different features in AutoCAD

Internal Loads and Energy Modeling

-Researched different types of HVAC systems that can go along with our house design to make it as efficient as possible

 

-Ideas such as solar powered and ground thermal air conditioners
