Short Bio

My name is Kris Melag. In my project role, I am responsible for designing the building envelope, researching advanced framing methods to ensure proper ventilation and prevention of air leakage. In addition, my role involves designing wall assemblies, choosing energy efficient window and roof material, designing roof systems for the framework of the building. Heat transfer calculations are to be done to determine how much energy is consumed to provide proper air flow and appropriate heating.

I assisted in researching solar panel components and recyclable water harvesting system design to aid in reducing the amount of energy used and provide efficient storage for solar and water collection to be used for heating and other purposes.

My career goal is to work for a architectural and/or civil engineering company, primarily based in Pennsylvania that specializes in architectural design, structural engineering, traffic/transportation engineering, and civil/site design.
